RESTAURANT REVIEWS

On a cold day all you want is pie … a nice warm … pizza pie that is. Ogden has a variety of pizza shops but this is one we go back to every time.

The Pie, originally known as Bimbos, comes from Salt Lake City and holds a cherished history.

Starting as a pizza and pasta place it served a 14-inch favorite, priced at a whopping $2.20. In 1980, the Palmer family transformed their pie shop from what was a quick college stop to an adorned local favorite. Growing to six locations you can grab a slice from South Jordan all the way up to our very own Ogden.

The best part? It’s still family-owned. With The Pie prioritizing fresh, quality ingredients, making their pizza dough from scratch, 24-hour double proofing and hand-rolling, you can’t ever go wrong. With over 40 years of acclaim, it has been a consistent favorite in Utah polling and the nation.

Whether it's a date night or family gathering it's the perfect spot for a night out. If you are feeling adventurous our go-to is the Bacon-Berry pie—also available gluten-free or vegan. However, if you think fruit doesn’t belong on pizza they have the classics and many other options. Once you're done ordering, take your pizza and cozy up outside under their covered patio near a fire.

Something else you’ll notice is the walls covered in visitors' signatures. Don’t forget to leave yours, and if you can see if you can spot ours!

Why call it ‘The Pie Pizzeria?’ Though an explanation of the naming wasn’t readily available on the website we suppose that the incorporation of the pi symbols everywhere could be a clever and memorable branding strategy, appealing to customers who appreciate a bit of wit and a nod to mathematical concepts.

If you need a reminder, ‘pi’ is a fundamental and infinite constant relating to the circumference and diameter of any circle. 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197… you get the point.

Be sure to stop in and support local and if you dare, tell us what you think of the Bacon-Berry Pie
