I’ve been playing
catch up with myself
for the last 6 hours
on a couch
with a plant on the
coffee table.

I’ve been listening to
everything I have to say
and learning
that I like
the sound of my voice.

I have heard stories
from my past
and jokes
about my future
and have decided that
loving myself
is the only option
I’ve really got

if I want to keep
the closest friend
I’ve ever had.
