Ogden, UT — A river revival is coming this fall; Taboo Pizza announced today that it will open a full-service restaurant along the Ogden River Parkway on Washington Boulevard in October.

The space has been vacant since Slackwater Pub & Pizzeria relocated downtown in 2021. Soon, the community will enjoy the pizza, brews, and river views again. The new Taboo restaurant will have beer, wine, and spirits to enjoy with lunch or dinner outside on the back patio or by the big open windows.

It will also feature new menu items next to original Taboo favorites like the Edgy Veggie, Island Reaper, Holy Cheesus specialty pizzas …and Dough Boi’s.

Taboo Pizza owners Jennifer and Jeremy Holmes opened the shop after their favorite pizza place—Pizza Runner—closed, preserving the pizza legacy of the space on Ogden’s east bench. The self-described “annoyingly healthy eaters” created original recipes, including plenty of vegan and gluten-free options, and have worked hard to keep Ogden well-fed ever since.

The Holmes go all-in. They’ve signed a 35-year commitment on the second Taboo Pizza spot, so you can be sure your favorite pizza hangout by the river is here to stay.

Don’t worry East Bench folks; Taboo’s popular take-out joint at 3017 Harrison Boulevard isn’t going anywhere. That location will continue its normal operations.
