SONGS OF THE GODDESS

NEXT ENSEMBLE PRESENTS ITS ANNUAL ‘WOMEN IN MUSIC’ CONCERT ON SATURDAY

NEXT Ensemble’s annual “Women in Music” concert featuring Songs of the Goddess will be held at Ogden Contemporary Arts on Saturday, March 16.

The event, hosted by local actress and activist, Teresa Sanderson, will feature the costume designs of Weber States long-time design resident Catherine Zublin, poets, and the singers of Opera Contempo.

NEXT Ensemble invites the community to join the evening of music and art inspired by Art Nouveau, “and celebrate the goddess in every woman.”

Arias, music, and poetry from the turn of the century will be part of the Art Nouveau-inspired evening that features exclusively women performers, composers, and designers, stated NEXT’s board president Mickey Larson in a press release. “This evening is sure to inspire women and those that love them.”

Teresa Sanderson will be reading poetry by Ashish Vardhan, Edna St. Vincent Millay and Alice Duer Miller.

In NEXT Ensemble fashion, the new art installations at Ogden Contemporary Arts will add another layer of artistic splendor to accompany the live music.
