EASY HOMEMADE RAMEN
Food is life in Ogden, and we want you to have a long life! Today we are starting this home cooking column, and we’re excited for this week’s recipe.
This is a full-flavored Ramen perfect for a cold winter day. And the best part is that it takes less than 15 minutes.
Fancy Ramen At Home
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS:
1 container of your preferred broth. Beef or Pork broth is more traditional. I use veggie broth.
Star Anise
Pepper to taste
2 TBSP soy sauce
Your favorite veggies. (Currently available locally are Microgreens, Kale, Carrots, and Broccoli. Harmon’s has a few local produce options, and you can also shop at Urban Prairie Agriculture. I also used green onions and sweet peppers from the store.)
Your favorite herbs. I used local cilantro and local basil.
1 soft-boiled egg per serving (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Boil the broth in a pot, add in Star Anise, pepper, and soy sauce. Boil while you chop your veggies and herbs. In a bowl, place 1 serving of uncooked Ramen, and pour broth over the noodles. Let sit for 3 min. Then top with veggies and herbs. Slice the peeled egg and place on top. Fast, simple, fresh, healthy. Enjoy!
