NEWS | MUSIC REVIEW
Returning from L.A. to his home state of Utah celebrating new album “Dance of Delight,” multi-instrumentalist Logan Hone will perform at a balcony show this Sunday in Salt Lake City. Believe us when we say it — you want to hop on this music train.
Hone cultivated his cheery music in Utah at venues like Kilby Court and Velour before moving to Los Angeles over a decade ago. He’s become known for spreading joyful live anthems across parks, streets, and stages, including Utah. Last year he appeared at Ogden Twilight Concert Series with John Carroll Kirby and Khruangbin.
“Dance of Delight” review:
Playing in the L.A. area, Logan brings a smooth jazz vibe reminiscent of Boney James and late era Herbie Mann. Masterfully holding down instruments from string, brass, and woodwind, Hone is also joined by many guests on his variety of songs, and albums. He brings lightheartedness and swing to a very swaying market.
There is something akin to a hug of Logan’s music, which is an absolute treat to listen to and a joy to experience. Check out his albums, and videos, at Bandcamp for the full experience. “Endless Mist” is a good starting point for the deep catalog of this very talented artist.
I hope to catch him live one day and that should be a goal for everyone.
Joyous, personal, and passionate. Take a moment to listen.
— Paddy Teglia, for The Ogdenite
