Ogden’s Historic Car Show returns with local art and festivities for everyone

One of the biggest nights in Ogden is happening this Friday when Ogden Downtown Alliance hosts its 24th annual Historic 25th Street Car Show from 5 to 9 p.m. The free event features over 350 classic and custom cars, live music, family activities, and a Best In Show awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s event centers on an eras theme celebrating automotive and cultural history. Local artist Monis Rodrigues created the official 2026 artwork — an original piece titled “Une soirée sous la pleine lune” (“An Evening Under the Full Moon”).

The popular family-friendly Pit Zone is back this year, along with NUHOPE’s kids car wash and a pinewood derby car making activity sponsored by Weber State University Alumni Association.

Sue Anderson is back to volunteer for the third consecutive year. "I have had so much fun helping set up the event, checking in the beautiful cars, selling car show merchandise and answering questions. As a classic and muscle car lover, I'm so excited to be back where the action is!” she said.

The car show founder Carolyn Brierley, former  Special Events Coordinator for Ogden City,  said the first unofficial 25th Street Car Show was in 2001, when 45 cars with one of the Car Club's monthly cruise nights decided to cruise from Layton to 25th Strete in Ogden. Later when she was asked to create a new event to bring people downtown she knew exactly what to do and the Historic 25th Street Car Show was born in 2002.

“The first car show in 2002 drew about 100 cars,” said Breirley. “From the beginning, I hired JC Hackett and his Rock ‘n’ Roll Racket to provide oldies music every year and give us the ability to do announcements. We placed his trailer on the street in front of Roosters parking lot where he could access the power box that we had installed a couple of years earlier. JC is like the Pied Piper of car shows. He has a great following and a lot of high-end cars show up at his events. He did a lot of advertising for us at other car shows.”

Live music on the Main Stage at Lincoln Avenue intersection will include DJ Bryson Dearden – to kick off this year’s new fashion show beginning at 5 p.m. Rose & Bird and Kip Congo are set to perform after.

The Best In Show Awards ceremony, including the People’s Choice Award, will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Main Stage. Spectators are encouraged to vote for their favorite vehicle throughout between 5 and 7 p.m. Best in Show awards will be given at 7:30 p.m. and the Main Stage.

The car show coincides with Ogden’s First Friday Art Stroll with over 26,000 visitors expected in the downtown area. Free public transit is available on the Frontrunner, the Ogden Express OGX (Route 603x) and the Ogden Trolley (Route 601). Free parking is available at The Junction garages, the WonderBlock parking garage, Union Station, and the UTA FrontRunner Station.

The Historic 25th Street Car Show is free and open to the public, Historic 25th Street, Friday, June 5, 5–9 p.m.
