Ogdenites rally for ‘No Kings,’ oppose local ICE activity

The third “No Kings” protest in Ogden was held Saturday, March 28. “No Kings” organizers estimated around 8 million people at on Saturday in all 50 states; 750-2,000 rallied in Ogden at the Municipal Building, according to local organizers League of Women Voters and Indivisible Ogden, where dozens of organizations attended including World Wildlife Fund, Weber Democratic Women’s Caucus, Beads for Liberty, Mormons With Hope, WSU Democrats, and local Democratic candidates for the 2026 elections.
Ogden resident Sarah Bowler collected signatures for a petition she started to terminate Weber County’s 287(g) agreement with ICE.
Ogdenites packed the chambers at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, March 24 to voice concerns about the ICE facility in Ogden after evidence of code violations were reported by KUER’s Macy Kipkin. Council member Alicia Washington proposed a special council meeting to discuss further with strong support from Council member Kevin Lundell, but the Council decided against it pending internal review. Lundell expressed his disappointment in a social media post: “Our community showed up for us. We owe it to them to show up as well.”
Ogden City Council will meet again on Tuesday, April 7.
