NEW ART EXHIBITS TO SEE IN OGDEN

Artwork from Suzanne Sbarge’s “Anomalies.” Provided by OCA

Ogden has a beautiful art scene to explore. From November to Jan. 11, Ogden Contemporary Arts (OCA) hosted New Mexico artist Suzanne Sbarge for a two-month residency featuring her art exhibit, “Anomalies.”. Using collage artwork, “Anomalies” explores the various ecosystems and animals that make up Antelope Island and the Great Salt Lake.

More art exhibits are opening in Ogden soon. Make plans now to see them before they close. While admission is free, donations are encouraged to support these great institutions that curate incredible art shows in our city.

UPCOMING ART EXHIBITS

“Reclamation”

Opening at OCA on Feb. 6, “RECLAMATION,” features Filipino/Filipinx American artists Lani Asunción, Camille Hoffman, and Kill Joy, whose work speaks to social and environmental justice.

Ogden Contemporary Arts, 455 25th Street, Ogden, Utah, free, Feb. 6 to May 3. More information at ogdencontemporaryarts.org.

“We Are All Migrants”

Opening at WSU’s Shaw Gallery on Jan. 23, “We Are All Migrants” explores the way humans and animals have always moved across spaces on earth. The Black & White Exhibit

This annual art competition hosted by Eccles Art Center invites artists of all mediums to submit works in monochrome, challenging artists to the power of contrast, form, shadow, and light without color. The entry deadline is Friday, Jan. 30. The exhibit opens to the public on Feb. 6.

Eccles Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Ave., free, Feb. 6 to Feb. 28. More information is available at ogden4arts.org.
